Budget notes / The whole quote

Once the opening offer ends, what will I pay?

Put the whole cost on one page.

Start with the full quote, then ask what repeats. Keep the price of the medicine beside the cost of the care.

An open ochre paper pocket holds blank cream cards with green and apricot tabs.
Keep the later costs beside the first quote.

What might be billed separately?

Pages for weight care online, checked in September 2026, commonly listed monthly fees and usually billed the medicine separately.

Ask for the visit fee, test charges, medicine price, delivery fees, and repeat charges in writing. Ask which ones are included.

A medicine price example

In the government price listing checked in September 2026, semaglutide (Ozempic) starts at $199 per month for new patients who meet the offer’s rules and pay without insurance.

The offer is for adults living in the US and covers only the first two monthly prescriptions. Only strengths of 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg qualify for that starting price. Strength means the amount of medicine in an injection; mg is short for milligrams, the unit on the label.

Later monthly prescriptions cost $349 at any of these strengths: 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, and 1 mg. The 2 mg strength costs $499 per month. These offer terms run through December 31, 2026.

Self-pay means you pay outside insurance.

With this offer, your payment does not go toward the deductible, which is what you pay before insurance begins sharing covered costs.

This is a medicine price, not the full cost of care. Ask for the quote for the exact form and strength being proposed.

Will insurance share the cost?

As of September 2026, Medicare’s prescription drug insurance, called Part D, may pay for certain weight-loss medicines to treat another health problem under Medicare’s rules. Examples include treating diabetes or reducing the risk of stroke or heart attack in certain people with heart disease. It does not pay for these medicines just for weight loss.

The medicine must still meet your plan’s rules, including its list of medicines it pays for. The plan may also need to approve payment first. Possible coverage is not a promise of payment.

Name the exact medicine when asking your insurer, and give the reason it is being prescribed. Ask what written approval is needed before the pharmacy fills your prescription.
